How can you get more sales and enquiries from your website?

Now there is a question!  As we are in the middle of a global credit crunch crisis we are all looking for ways to increase our sales and reduce our costs.   Is your website working as hard for you as it should be?  Quite possibly not and this is what you can change for a quick and cost effective route to more sales and enquiries.

Most of us have websites, in fact the smallest of businesses has a website these days but there is a huge difference between a well managed website and one that sits on a server somewhere doing absolutely nothing!

Part of the secret is to know what keywords or phrases people are actually typing into search engines.  Try typing ‘small hotel’ into the search box in Google and you’ll find about 37 million pages that are listed for those words!  Wouldn’t it be nice to know that the phrase ‘small hotel’ is searched for about 12,000 times per month?  Tough to compete against that if you run a small hotel!  Now try adding your location after ‘small hotel’, for example ‘small hotel Edinburgh’ and the figures drop to about 3 million pages and 110 searches per month – now that’s a lot easier to complete against!
